Bonnet Springs Park

A new urban park recently opened near the heart of Lakeland, Bonnet Springs Park. This park offers a variety of outdoor entertainment opportunities for the whole community.

Today we finally arrived early enough to get into the park. It has been crowded since opening, and I understand why. The venue offers places for kids to play, wide open green spaces, a children’s museum, nature center, and even an eatery!

Our trip was focused on exploring the paths and trails which traverse the park. The highlights of our trip was the boardwalk over Bonnet Springs and the canopy walk among the oak trees.

Hunger hit us so we headed toward the eatery, but it was packed. At that point we opted for other options and took the hills trail back toward our car to get lunch.

This is a great park! I’m looking forward to visiting again to see more areas. Our walk/hike today ended up being 2.61 miles.

9.98 miles down; 355.02 miles to go!
